Blu Dot Opens New Store

Blu Dot has carved out a name for itself with its modern home furniture focusing squarely on a stylish design that removes all of the superfluous fluff typically associated with modern design furniture. Its many distinctly attractive pieces capture all of the practical qualities yet also focus on maintaining affordability. The Minneapolis-based company isn't particularly known for conducting a large portion of its business via traditional retail outlets, which makes the opening of a new Blu Dot store that much more surprising.

The new Blu Dot store will be opening in Chicago's Lincoln Park within a 7,561 square foot location. The area is already recognized for its many furniture stores that, like Blu Dot, conduct the bulk of their business via the Internet. Located near Armitage Avenue, the store will be joined by other brands like Bonobos, Warby Parker, and Tie Bar.

The opening of a new Blu Dot store is a bit unusual for the brand since there are just four stores throughout the United States, located in Austin, New York, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. There are two additional stores in Monterrey, Mexico and Sydney, Australia.
