Verner Panton studied architecture at the Royal Academy of Art in Copenhagen. In 1950-1952 he worked at the architecture practice of Arne Jacobsen. Known for his unconventional chairs he designed the very first single-form injection-molded plastic chair. Known as the Panton chair it is still produced today by Vitra. Other notable designs were the Panthella lamp by Louis Poulsen and the Cone chair by Vitra. He spent the rest of his life creating innovative and psychedelic interiors and furniture.
