Founded in 1983, Humanscale's focus on high-performance products that support a healthy, more active way of working, led to the development of the Freedom Chair, created by acclaimed industrial designer Niels Diffrient. The Freedom Chair "changed the game" in ergonomic seating with it's simple controls and minimal design. As, it's name suggests, the Freedom Chair utilizes the laws of physics and the users body weight to provide instant, custom support for while maintaining comfort and of course, "freedom".
Manufactured to minimize environmental impact, Humanscale's product development and manufacturing utilizes sustainable and recycled materials and are constantly evaluating their impact on the earth not only in product design but also within the company's supply chain.
