Founded in 1885 in London’s West India Docks, Davey & Co’s marine lighting and hardware graced many of history’s best-known vessels. As Britain’s maritime heyday faded, Davey & Co used the skills honed manufacturing deck lights, saloon and navigation lanterns to launch Davey Lighting. Davey’s hand-made fixtures were snapped up by the world of architecture and design, taking pride of place in locations such as the Savoy Hotel.
A smaller version of Davey Lighting's classic School Light, produced in hand blown glass, and designed as a compact wall light fitting. The glass shades come in either opal, anthracite and clear glass, with a weathered brass arm and back plate. The anthracite and clear glass shades show off the filament exposed light bulb, a nod to this continuing lighting trend.
